The Repubic of Ireland (this excludes the northern Ireland enclave which is still part of Britain) holds a general election today. Ireland has just 5m people and is part of the European Union and the Eurozone, contributing just 1% of EU27 and 3% of EU GDP.
To describe a weapon system as a game changer on the battlefield is always open to be ridiculed. Many of the weapon systems that have been delivered to Ukraine were called game changing but failed to make any difference in the outcome of that war.

On 25th November an international group of politicians and leading medical and other professionals wrote to the heads of state of 10 European countries (Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom) calling for a suspension of all modified mRNA vaccines citing serious health concerns.

Finally, before history ends, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity. The indictment stated that there ‘are reasonable grounds to believe that both individuals intentionally and knowingly deprived the civilian population in Gaza of objects indispensable to their survival, including food, water, and medicine and medical supplies, as well as fuel and electricity’. The court found sufficient reasons to believe that the two men ‘bear criminal responsibility’ for the war crime of starvation as a method of warfare, the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts, and the war crime of intentionally directing an attack against a civilian population. Almost immediately, US President Joe Biden condemned the court’s actions, stating that the ‘ICC issuance of arrest warrants against Israeli leaders is outrageous’. The United States, Biden said, ‘will always stand with Israel’.

Experiences from Canada and Oregon demonstrate how assisted dying can spiral into an uncontrollable ethical abyss, undermining the foundational values of trust, accountability, and the sanctity of life. As Britain faces this watershed moment, it must reject the seductive but dangerous rhetoric of “choice” and instead fight to protect life, dignity, and the shared rules that hold society together.

Save the Children reported that since October 6, 2024, children in northern Gaza have been entirely cut off from essential supplies of food, water, and medicine due to the ongoing Israeli siege.
“The situation in northern Gaza is not fit for human survival and yet we know there are about 130,000 children under 10 trapped in those conditions, not to mention the thousands of older children and their families,” said Jeremy Stoner, the charity’s regional director.
He emphasized the dire need for humanitarian aid, stating, “Humanitarian aid to Gaza has hit an all-time low with the appalling situation in northern Gaza the tip of a terrible iceberg. Safe humanitarian access must be granted immediately to allow food, water, winter supplies, and medical assistance to reach those who are trapped in the death zone in the north.”
