On the 4th of October, when members of the European Union voted in favour of imposing tariffs of up to 45 per cent on Chinese Electric Vehicles (EVs) for at least the next five years, they did not just simply take a step to “de-risk” from China and/or put their policies in line with Washington’s.
On July 29th, Pentagon-funded “think tank” RAND Corporation published a landmark appraisal of the state of the Pentagon’s 2022 National Defense Strategy (NDS), and current US military readiness, produced by a Congress-created Commission of “non-governmental experts in national security.” Its findings are stark, an unrelentingly bleak analysis of every aspect of the Empire’s bloated, decaying global war machine. In brief, the US is “not prepared” in any meaningful way for serious “competition” with its major adversaries – and vulnerable or even significantly outmatched in every sphere of warfare.

Britain’s Home Office is making a “grave mistake” by ignoring a call from the Council of Europe to review its treatment of Julian Assange, the WikiLeaks founder’s wife has warned.
The council’s parliamentary assembly, of which the U.K. is a member, passed a resolution earlier this month designating Assange as a “political prisoner”.
With two weeks to go, the polls for the presidential election are essentially tied, with neither candidate ahead by even a single percentage point, according to a New York Times poll that examined the averages of the five key battleground states: Pennsylvania, Michigan, Nevada, Wisconsin and North Carolina. Partisan organizations like the conservative Fabrizio, Lee & Associates have former president Trump leading by two to three points, while the more centrist polls, such as Big Village, show Harris leading by seven points with a 52-45 margin.
The Mark 84 or BLU-117is a 2,000-pound (900 kg) American general purpose aircraft bomb. It is the largest of the Mark 80 series of weapons. Since the start of the Israeli aggression, military experts have indicated that “Israel” has been using MK-84 bombs in Gaza.
Then, when “Israel” intensified its aggression on Lebanon, it was determined that the same bombs were being used in crowded areas in the Southern Suburb of Beirut.
Mark Kelly, chair of the Senate Armed Services Airland Subcommittee, admitted that these bombs were used in the massive attack on September 27, targeting residential neighborhoods in the Haret Hreik area in the Southern Suburb of the Lebanese capital Beirut.
