Some people ask why I read the New York Times and other such outlets of mostly ‘western’ propaganda. One obvious reason is to “know your enemy”, to find out what the propaganda wants us to think. Another one is to find the gems that give a real picture of a situation which often sneak themselves into the coverage, though usually way below the headline.

A lot of cross-posting usually indicates that the article is popular and some links may not work, depending on your location but I’ve kept them anyway, so at least the reader has some idea of the scale of censorship now operating in the ‘democratic’ West.

Due to the stupidity of Europe’s political leadership the U.S. has managed to push it towards committing economic and social suicide.
On February 8 Michael Hudson, a research professor of Economics at University of Missouri, wrote about the then upcoming conflict in Ukraine which the U.S. was intentionally provoking.

(Photo: FridaysForFuture/Flickr/cc)A group of climate scientists have said: Time is short to secure a livable and sustainable future; yet, inaction from governments, industry and civil society is setting the course for 3.2 °C of warming, with all the cascading and catastrophic consequences that this implies. In this context, when does civil disobedience by scientists become justified.

The first time was in an article about internet censorship, and the second time was when a 13-year-old Ukrainian girl, Faina Savenkova, was added to the list for publicly speaking out against Kyiv’s bloody war on Russian-speaking civilians in the eastern part of Ukraine, a region known as the Donbas.

ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN – AUGUST 04: Pakistan Justice Movement (PTI) party supporters hold a protest led by former Prime Minister Imran Khan against the coalition government and the Election Commission at Fatma Jinnah Park in the F-9 region of Islamabad, Pakistan on August 04, 2022. ( Muhammed Semih Uğurlu – Anadolu Agency )
Politicians in Pakistan rise to power and fall from grace with alarming regularity, so much so that not a single prime minister has ever completed a full term in office. The one constant has been the genuine love and affection ordinary people have for the military. However, that could be about to change now that some inconvenient truths are beginning to surface in the increasingly clumsy attempts to silence Imran Khan.
When politicians throw around big numbers or plans one should always look at the details to see what they really entail.
In May Biden announced and Congress passed a $40 billion package ‘for Ukraine’.

The expected knockout blow from anti-Russia restrictions “has not materialized,” the UK magazine reports
The harsh sanctions imposed on Russia by the West over the conflict in Ukraine have so far been unable to deliver the desired result, The Economist magazine has acknowledged, adding that the strategy has “flaws.”
Neurosis to a greater or lesser degree is the norm in western industrialized societies. Drawing on this fact is the key to effective propaganda. It is well known that neurotics always return to the place they are running away from. It’s a circle game of frustration in which being frustrated is actually the “solution,” because the real problems cannot be faced. The Donald Trump phenomenon is an example of this on a social level.
Sam Husseini flags an unhinged exchange between NPR’s Terry Gross and New York Times Magazine writer Robert Draper.
By Sam HUSSEINI
In a remarkably unhinged analysis, NPR host Terry Gross and New York Times Magazine writer Robert Draper claimed that Russia is a communist country — as they went on about how detached from reality rightwing Republicans are.

International affairs analyst Mark Sleboda joins MintPress News’ Dan Cohen to discuss the assassination of Darya Dugina and the latest U.S. weapons package to Ukraine. They discuss how western media and intelligence agencies have distorted the role of the Russian philosopher Alexander Dugin, leading to the murder of his daughter. They also discuss how the U.S. is seeking to maintain a permanent state of conflict in Ukraine, and what the future may look like in this unending conflict.

A great humanitarian uproar in recent weeks demanding the safe shipping of Ukrainian grain to ease a hunger crisis in Africa and elsewhere is deceptive on many levels. Not the least is who owns the land on which the grain is grown and whether that grain is actually illegal GMO patented corn and other grains. A corrupt Zelenskyy regime has quietly made deals with the major GMO agribusiness companies in the West who have been stealthily taking control of some of the world’s most productive “black earth” farmland.
