So what can we expect in the new year? Pepe Escobar says: Be prepared – for anything.
An extremely complex world situation can be summed, as it is one war, with more wars threatening.

The criminality of the Kiev regime knows no bounds. It is mind-boggling. But the putrid reality is covered up by the Western media which indulges the fantasy of “noble Ukraine defending Europe from Russian aggression.”

From Renaissance Florence, one of the – few – peaks of humanity, now living in memory, tread carefully across this flame-filled 2025.
FLORENCE – It’s a dazzling Tuscan winter morning, and I am inside the legendary Dominican church of Santa Maria Novella, founded in the early 13th century and finally consecrated in 1420, in a very special place in History of Art: right in front of one of the monochrome frescos painted in 1447-1448 by master of perspective Paolo Uccello, depicting the Universal Deluge.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro described Monday the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, as “a true hero of medical ethics and service to others and his people.”
In a post on X, Petro emphasized that the Israeli occupation’s military’s imprisoning of Abu Safiya only exposes “the cowardice of the disgraceful regime that detains him.”

On December 6th, Romania’s constitutional court made an extraordinary decision to inexplicably overturn first round results of the country’s November 24th presidential election. Conveniently, the ruling was made mere days before a runoff that, according to polls, would’ve seen upstart outsider Calin Georgescu win via landslide. In the process, citizens of all NATO member states were provided with a particularly pitiless, real-time crash course on what could now happen in their own countries, should the ‘wrong’ candidates be elected fair and square.

❎ Report | Reports confirm that Israel conducted a test of a small tactical nuclear bomb in the Syrian city of Tartus:
This conclusion is supported by the high radiation levels detected in Cyprus and Mersin, as well as the recording of an earthquake in the area at the same time.
Satellite images revealed the disappearance of a section of a mountain approximately 70 meters wide and the evaporation of tree leaves in a circular area with a radius of about 1 km.
According to sources, the objective may have been to either destroy a concealed target or test a new weapon in real-world conditions.

🇮🇱💥Documents have been released confirming that a controlled nuclear explosion took place in Tartus and Latakia
☢More precisely, it was the detonation of a tactical nuclear warhead designed to destroy fortifications.
☢Images released show that radiation measuring devices in Cyprus, as well as in Mersin, recorded a sharp jump in radiation levels.
☢Satellite images show a section of mountain about 200 feet wide that literally disappeared into the sky, and tree crowns for about a kilometer were vaporized.

CBS’s interview with two Mossad agents about the pager attack on Lebanon reveals much more than just their narrative. The lack of empathy and the striking arrogance on display raises serious questions about accountability and truth. This video refutes their claims, exposing the deeper implications of using such rhetoric to justify violence. This is a closer look at what lies beneath their words1 and the consequences of their actions.

Yesterday, in an alarming escalation, the IOF stormed into Kamal Adwan Hospital, forcibly kicking patients out, and detaining dozens including medical staff.
Reports subsequently surfaced that many Palestinians were detained by the IOF, forced to take off their clothes, and taken to an unknown location.
IOF soldiers also burned entire wards in Kamal Adwan Hospital, spreading panic among patients, many of whom are in intensive care in what is considered “the last operating hospital in the northern Gaza Strip”, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health.

You might have heard that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been propping up Hamas in Gaza… but is there more to the story?
Maysa Yousef (Gaza, Occupied Palestinian Territory), Alice in Palestine #1, 2021.
Dear friends,
Greetings from the desk of Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research.
Pain shudders through the arteries of global society. Day after day passes by as the genocide against the Palestinian people continues and the conflicts in the Great Lakes region of Africa and Sudan escalate. More and more people slip into absolute poverty as arms companies’ profits soar. These realities have hardened society, allowing people to bury their heads and ignore the horrors unfolding across the world. Ferocious disregard for the pain of others has become a way to protect oneself from the inflation of suffering. What can one do with the wretchedness that has come to define life across the planet? What can I do? What can you do?
Since the regime change in Syria, militants from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) have been involved in escalating sectarian actions, raising concerns that these tensions could drive the country toward a full-scale civil war.

Emboldened by the results of 14 months of regional war, and backed by the U.S., Israel has steadily intensified its bombing attacks against Yemen. After its assassinations of top leaders of Hamas and Hezbollah, Israel is now ramping up its campaign targeting sites in Sana’a and elsewhere inside Yemeni territory—as well as leaders of the Houthi militant group itself. If you have been reading Shuaib Almosawa’s reporting, you know that the Houthis—also known as Ansarallah—have proven to be determined and capable opponents to Israel’s seige on Gaza, and the war is all but guaranteed to intensify—to the detriment of Yemeni civilians.
Below, read Shuaib Almosawa’s report from Sana’a.

A recent study has uncovered the harrowing impact of “Israel’s” war on Gaza’s children, revealing that an overwhelming 96% feel their death is imminent, and nearly half wish for it as an escape from their trauma.
