Beware the Cult of Cadwalladr
Saturday, 22 January 2022 — Craig MurraY
The most important piece of information to come out of Carole Cadwalladr’s current libel trial is perhaps the least reported – that she received material alleging links between Arron Banks, Vote Leave and Russia from “a contractor to the UK security services”. The information came to light because under discovery rules she had to disclose a great deal of relevant material to Banks.
New Documents Reveal More British Efforts To Undermine Russia
15 February 2021 — Moon of Alabama
In 2018 we wrote about:
The ‘Integrity Initiative’ – A Military Intelligence Operation, Disguised As Charity, To Create The “Russian Threat”.
The reporting was based on the British Integrity Initiative’s internal files which some ‘anonymous’ organization had acquired and published.
Data acquired from Britain’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office by the same group revealed large British propaganda programs in support of Jihadis in Syria as well as British influence operations designed to undermine the security institutions of Lebanon and to secretly influence its population.
The Russian Interference Report, Without Laughing
13 August 2020 — Craig Murray
Now the madding crowd has moved on, I take a mature look at the report by the Intelligence and Security Committee on Russia. It is so flawed it is tempting simply to mock it. But in fact, it is extremely dangerous.
“Credible Open Source Reporting”, the Intelligence Services and Scottish Independence
21 July 2020 — Craig Murray
I write as somebody who held Top Secret clearance for 21 years, with extensive daily use of Top Secret material that entire time, and the highest possible specific codeword clearance above Top Secret for 11 years. I personally conducted for the FCO the largest “action on” operation in GCHQ history. (“Action on” is the process of declassifying top secret material for, in my particular case, government to government use). I have also given evidence in person in a three hour appearance before Parliament’s Intelligence and Security Committee.
Home Office-funded counter-extremism group promoting anti-Corbyn messages
10 November 2019 — The Canary
An initiative receiving counter-extremism funding from the Home Office has reportedly been posting consistently anti-Corbyn messages.
Faith Matters is funded by the Home Office’s Building a Stronger Britain Together programme (BSBT). It has regularly shared views against Labour party leader Jeremy Corbyn. According to a report published by the Home Office in October, it has awarded “around £8.8 million of government funding” to recipients of BSBT funding since 2016.

4 November 2019 — RT
The NGO behind the Integrity Initiative – a project that claimed to fight “disinformation” but in reality appeared to be more of a covert British influence op – has been blasted by a new report for providing no “public benefit.”

Twitter and the smearing of Corbyn and Assange: A research note on the “Integrity Initiative”
13 February 2019 — True Publica
By Mark Curtis: The UK government-financed Integrity Initiative, managed by the Institute for Statecraft, is ostensibly a “counter disinformation” programme to challenge Russian information operations. However, it has been revealed that the Integrity Initiative twitter handle and some individuals associated with this programme have also been tweeting messages attacking Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn. [i] This takes on special meaning in light of the numerous UK military and intelligence personnel associated with the programme, documented in an important briefing by academics in Working Group on Syria Propaganda and Media. Coincidence? – Chief Nurse Of British Army Was First To Arrive At Novichoked Skripal Scene
20 January 2019 — Moon of Alabama
On March 4 2018 the British/Russian double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were found incapacitated on a bench in Salisbury. The British government asserts that they were affected by a chemical poison of the so called Novichok group. The case led to a diplomatic conflict as Britain accused Russia of an attempt to kill the Skripals. No evidence was provided by the British government to support those accusations. The Skripals have since been vanished.
Integrity Initiative: Covert British Military-Smear Machine Moving into US

Update 8 January 2019
Here are Part 3 and 4 of the files ‘liberated’ from the Institute for Statecraft
integrity initiative part 4 (43.4mb zipped)
Integrity Initiative part 3 (40.1mb zipped)
I came across the graphic below released by the ‘Integrity Initiative’ [sic] which I think is worth adding in here. BTW, apparently, according to this graphic, this and other lefty websites are now part of the Russian ‘propaganda’ offensive.
And it since emerged that same duo of Institute for Statecraft/Integrity Initiative has been putting out disinfo on Jeremy Corbyn as well! This from The Canary:
The Conservative government is funding a ‘monitoring group’ that’s carrying out disinformation attacks on Jeremy Corbyn and Labour. The foreign office has now admitted providing £1.96m of public money to the Institute for Statecraft’s Integrity Initiative in the 2018/19 year. Military specialists run the unit, which has posted smears about Jeremy Corbyn and his team on social media. ‘The Canary‘, 9th December 2018
A number of documents from the Institute for Statecraft and its propaganda machine, ‘Integrity Initiative’ [sic] have been uncovered by ‘Anonymous’ (whoever they are) that reveal the objectives and the scale of this sophisticated enterprise. But already I read that some individuals are questioning the validity of these documents, that they are some kind of ‘plant’ designed I’m told, to confuse and neutralise Russian propaganda, but you be the judge (all in PDF format). For myself, it’s clear that they are real and not bogus.
UK Integrity Initiative heavily involved in Skripal affair By Robert Stevens
7 January 2019 — WSWS
The Institute for Statecraft (IoS) and its Integrity Initiative (II) constitute a secret propaganda network tied to the UK security services. They bring together high-ranking military and intelligence personnel, journalists and academics to manufacture and disseminate propaganda serving the geo-political aims of British imperialism and its allies.
