Stand Your Ground and Beyond: The Whole Criminal Justice System is Arrayed Against Blacks

by BAR executive editor Glen Ford

The battle against Stand Your Ground laws must be “one front in the war against the legitimacy of a criminal justice system that is fundamentally hostile to the Black presence in the United States.” The task requires a mass Movement – one that avoids the clutches of the Black Misleadership Class, which seeks to “divert Black rage down avenues that do not threaten their own relationships with Power.” Continue reading

Racism, Drugs and Crime By Patricia Murphy-Robinson

16 April 2013

Today, I learned with great sorrow of the death of a woman who had a very profound affect on my life. Born I think, on exactly the same month, day and year as Fidel Castro, Patricia Murphy-Robinson died on 11 April 2013. I knew that she’d been ill having spoken to her a few months ago in Jacksonville Fla, where she lived, but just how ill she had been, she kept hidden from me and wasn’t until I got an email from someone who knew her, that I found out.

This is not the place to go into Patricia’s long and eventful life and about which I have only the sketchiest idea, nor how I came to know her. Instead, here’s an essay she sent me that I published in an earlier version of InI and on rereading it after so many years (I think it was penned sometime in the  1990s), it seems right on the money for our situation today and a fitting testament to Patricia’s lifelong struggle for justice.

Once again on the territorial dispute between Japan and China and Korea (II)

17.11.2012 | 10:11 | Alexander VORONTSOV

Almost simultaneously with the aggravation of the territorial dispute between China and Japan, a long-standing dispute has sharply escalated between Japan and South Korea over  ownership of the Dokdo Islands (Korean name), they are also called Takeshima (Japanese name). If in the case of the Senkaku archipelago Japan carries administrative control, the Dokdo islands are under the sovereignty of the Republic of Korea (ROK)…To date, the picture is very dramatic. At the same time, albeit from different viewpoints, Japan`s territorial conflict with neighboring countries is really important for, the ROK, China and Taiwan, Russia … Continue reading

The DEA as a coordinator of drug trafficking in Latin America

03.11.2012 | 12:00 | Nil NIKANDROV

Inspector Franklin Brewster Chase, aged 39, the head of investigation of particularly important cases of drug trafficking in Panama, was poisoned on July 3, 2006. Brewster, like many other members of staff, kept food brought from home in the fridge, which stood in one of the staff rooms. After having lunch and drinking water from a plastic bottle, he fell ill, began to complain of shortness of breath, fever, dizziness, and nausea. Half an hour later, still conscious, he asked to be taken to the National Hospital. Two weeks later he died in excruciating pain. Panamanian investigators told the press that, in all probability, Brewster had been poisoned by organophosphate pesticides… Continue reading

FBI Account of "Terror Plot" Suggests Sting Operation

18 October 2011 — IPS ipsnews.net

Analysis by Gareth Porter*

WASHINGTON, Oct 13, 2011 (IPS) – While the administration of Barack Obama vows to hold the Iranian government ‘accountable’ for the alleged plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador in Washington, the legal document describing evidence in the case provides multiple indications that it was mainly the result of an FBI ‘sting’ operation.

National Endowment for Democracy: At It Again in Haiti! By William Bowles

19 February 2004

The National Endowment for Democracy that ‘celebrated’ its 20th anniversary this year has a long and less than illustrious past. It’s dead hand has descended on a number of countries over the past two decades including Nicaragua, El Salvador, Venezuela (currently also on-going) and of course Haiti.

Book Review: Getting to the meat of Skull & Bones By William Bowles

23 November 2003

“Fleshing Out Skull & Bones: Investigations into America’s Most Powerful Secret Society” – Antony Sutton, Howard Altman, Kris Milligan, Dr Ralph Bunch, Anton Chaitkin & Webster Griffin Tarpley. Trineday 2003

What constitutes a conspiracy? Well first off by definition it should be a secret. According to the chapter by Ralph Bunch, ‘Secrecy and our constitution: Whom do they serve?’ conspiracies are factions, minority factions that see all non-members of the conspiracy as opponents and their secrecy is to prevent all opponents from even knowing of their existence. Hence by this definition, political lobbying groups, corporations that seek to defraud the public, politicians planning a coup d’etat, criminals planning a robbery, all are conspiracies.
