Going to Samarkand

Saturday, 30 July 2022 — Strategic Culture Foundation

Pepe Escobar

The SCO and other pan-Eurasian organizations play a completely different – respectful, consensual – ball game. And that’s why they are catching the full attention of most of the Global South.

The meeting of the SCO Ministerial Council  in Tashkent this past Friday involved some very serious business. That was the key preparatory reunion previous to the SCO summit in mid-September in fabled Samarkand, where the SCO will release a much-awaited “Declaration of Samarkand”.

Saturday, 30 July 2022 • 16:00 — The New Dark Age

There may be some duplication due to cross-posting and may be updated throughout the day, so please check back. If it gets updated, I usually insert the time on the line above. A lot of cross-posting usually indicates that the article is popular and some links may not work, depending on your location but I’ve kept them anyway, so at least the reader has some idea of the scale of censorship now operating in the ‘democratic’ West.

Last Tango in Washington?

Saturday, 16 June, 2022 — Consortium News

Michael Brenner sizes up the scale of the West’s blunder in trying to use a crisis in Ukraine as the lever to bring down Putin and Russia along with him.

Reality has a way of catching up to us. Sometimes it comes via a sudden shock — Sputnik or Tet. Sometimes it creeps up incrementally — as in Ukraine with each thousand round Russian artillery barrage and the steady rise of the ruble now 25 percent higher than at the onset of the crisis.

US-NATO Intent upon Boycotting Russia-India Relations

Friday, 29 July 2022 — Global Research – InfoBrics 28 July 2022

By Lucas Leiroz de Almeida

The US seems once again interested in boycotting good relations between Russia and India. Congressmen in Washington are proposing that New Delhi be included in the NATO-Plus group, guaranteeing a series of privileges in military cooperation. Obviously, the military ties between both countries are not recent, but this type of maneuver precisely at the current moment indicates the concern on the part of the US with the rapprochement between India and Russia.

‘Israel’ Bombed Nablus and Failed its Largest Operation in the City Since 2002

Thursday, 28 July 2022 — Internationalist 360°

Robert Inlakesh

Drones, helicopters, militarized vehicles, anti-tank missiles and armor piercing rounds were all deployed by Israeli forces, yet they were unable to arrest or harm their target suspect.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, Palestinian resistance factions based in the West Bank city of Nablus fought Israeli occupation forces for over three hours, during which missiles were used to attack Palestinians. Despite how heavy handed the occupation forces came in, they failed to achieve their objectives due to the unity of the northern West Bank resistance.

Poland’s Position as the “Next Ukraine”

Saturday, 30 July, 2022 — Land Destroyer

(Brian Berletic – New Eastern Outlook) – While Western governments and the Western media continue clinging to the hope of an eventual “victory” for Kiev’s forces in Ukraine, the “frontline” is quietly being moved back to western Ukraine and even Poland just across the border. Recent pledges by NATO as well as arms deliveries this year and next appear to be headed in the direction of using Poland as the next battering ram with which US-led NATO will use against Russia.

“Don’t say we didn’t warn you!” – a phrase that was used by the People’s Daily in 1962 before China was forced to fight the border war with India and ahead of the 1979 China-Vietnam War, was frequently mentioned during a forum held Friday by a high-level Chinese think tank, as analysts warned that open military options and comprehensive countermeasures ranging from the economy to diplomacy from China await if US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi gambles with a visit to the Taiwan island during her Asia tour.

My Body Is Not Your Capital-Producing Machine – Or Is It?

Friday, 29 July, 2022 — Susan Rosenthal

There are three basic freedoms: freedom to say NO; freedom to move away; and freedom to change what does not work.

Individual freedom requires social support. To say NO, you need others to respect your choice and not force you to obey. To move freely, you need others to support your movement and not erect walls and roadblocks. To change what does not work, you need others who are affected to accept the change.
