The Telegraph’s Brexit poll is bogus, but broadcasters seem not to have noticed

An Opinion Piece by Steven Barnett

Boris brexit poll

Opinion polls exude an aura of scientific truth. Those numbers and percentages are so reassuringly solid, especially when generated by one of the well-known names of the polling world, that for many people they represent hard evidence of the state of British public opinion.

Jeffrey Zwi Epstein Migdal By Gilad Atzmon

31 August 2019 — Dissident Voice

The story of Jeffrey Epstein has lost its mystery as more and more commentators allow themselves to express the thought that it is a strong possibility that Epstein was connected to a crime syndicate affiliated with a Zionist political organisation or Israel and/or at least a few compromised intelligence agencies. Whitney Web and others have produced superb studies of possible scenarios, I would instead like to attack the topic from a cultural perspective. Epstein wasn’t the first Jewish sex trafficker. This seems like a good time to look back at Zwi Migdal, a Jewish global crime syndicate that operated a century ago and trafficked tens of thousands of Jewish women and under age girls as sex slaves. According to contemporary Jewish writer Giulia Morpurgo the Zwi Migdal had turned Argentina, “into a nightmare of prostitution and exploitation.”

Johnson puts UK establishment & Ireland in the firing line

31 August 2019 — Terry Bell Writes

The view from South Africa

‘Make the most of October: a month of anniversary events, before the bank runs, food shortages and petrol queues start . . .’ (London Review of Books advert as demonstrations erupted in several UK centres)

The decision by British premier Boris Johnson to prorogue (suspend) parliament has caused an uproar throughout Britain and Europe and has thrown into sharp focus the role of the Westminster parliament, the monarchy, the unelected House of Lords and the country’s unwritten constitution. It has also, perhaps even more worryingly, heightened tensions within Northern Ireland and in communities on both sides of the invisible border that separates the “British” north from the Irish republic.

ACTION ALERT: NYT Presents Murder of a Palestinian Boy as ‘National Trauma’—for Jewish Israelis

30 August 2019 — FAIR
NYT: HBO Drama Revives a National Trauma for Israel

The New York Times (8/27/19) takes up the complaint of “some Israelis” that an HBO series “unfairly focuses on the killing of a Palestinian teen by Jews when Palestinian terrorism is more common.”

HBO has a series based on a real-life crime in Israel—a 2014 case involving (in the New York Times‘ words) “a Palestinian teenager snatched off a Jerusalem street by Orthodox Jews, choked, bludgeoned and burned to death in a forest at dawn.”

And how does the Times headline its report (8/27/19) on this series?

Syrian ‘Rebels’ Feel Left Behind – Burn ‘Traitor’ Erdogan’s Picture

30 August 2019 — Moon of Alabama

Since 2011 the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan used Syrian ‘rebels’ and Islamist Jihadis as proxy forces against the Syrian government. These forces are now mostly confined to Idlib governorate next to the Turkish border. The Syrian army recently made progress against the Jihadis. Turkey did not come to their help. That their resistance is futile began to dawn on them. Syria will recover the whole governorate and those who resist will be eliminated. The ‘rebels’ fear that their punishment is coming and they now want to flee to Turkey. Unfortunately Turkey does not want them.

Britain: “a constitutional outrage” – kick out this unelected gang! By Rob Sewell

30 August 2019 — In Defence of Marxism

[This article calls for a ‘socialist Labour Party-led government’ but fails to tell us how such a thing could be realised, let alone explain the fiction of a socialist Labour Party! Yet more wishful thinking, instead of actual  analysis but you be the judge. WB]

Britain is in the midst of a profound crisis, not seen in modern times. Everywhere is in uproar. This is the view not of some left-wing newspaper, but the official view of the British ruling class.

In the past, these powerful capitalist interests called all the shots. But today they have lost control of the situation.
