Monday, 21 February 2022 — The New Atlas

(The New Atlas) – The Atlantic Council has released a report claimed across the Western media to provide additional evidence of “genocide” in China’s western region of Xinjiang. However, in less than 5 minutes of research it is possible to expose the report as propaganda built on existing, baseless claims coupled to known information about the World Bank and other institutions funding activities inside China.

Graphika: The Deep State’s Beard for Controlling the Information Age

Tuesday, 25 January 2022 — MintPress News

NEW YORK – Graphika is the toast of the town. The private social-media and tech-intelligence agency that tracks down bots and exposes foreign influence operations online is constantly quoted, referenced and profiled in the nation’s most important outlets. For example, in 2020, The New York Times published a fawning profile of the company’s head of investigations, Ben Nimmo. “He Combs the Web for Russian Bots. That Makes Him a Target,” ran its headline, the article presenting him as a crusader risking his life to keep our internet safe and free. Last year, business magazine Fast Company labeled Graphika as among the 10 most innovative companies in the world.

Manufacturing Consent

Twenty years ago, a group of neoconservative think tanks used their power to push for disastrous wars in the Middle East. Now, a new set of think tanks staffed with many of the same experts and funded by Taiwanese money is working hard to convince Americans that there is a new existential threat: China.

Truth is the Last Call of the Perpetrators of Falsehoods About China’s Population Policy

24 March 2021 — Origin: New Eastern Outlook

James ONeill

UIR35111Two senior Chinese officials have in this past week met their American counterparts in the United States city of Anchorage, Alaska. Initial reports of the meeting were not encouraging. The Chinese leader reacted angrily to the United States’ opening statement that accused China of committing various crimes including against the Uighurs and the citizens of Hong Kong. The Chinese response was unusually robust, declaring that internal Chinese matters were exclusively the prerogative of the Chinese. They did not, in any case, accept the American characterisation of the treatment of their citizens.

Twitter Deletes Dozens of Russian Accounts for “Undermining Faith in NATO”

24 February 2021 — Mint Press News

Stealth propaganda

A propaganda system is far more effective — and dangerous — when those inside are unaware of it and believe themselves to be free from influence.

by Alan Macleod

Social media giant Twitter announced yesterday that it has deleted 373 accounts it claims were linked to Russia, Iran, and Armenia. In a blog post entitled “Disclosing networks of state-linked information operations,” it claimed that it had taken the decision to remove 69 Russian accounts primarily because they were “undermining faith in the NATO alliance and its stability.”The move sparked controversy on Twitter itself, with many users joking that their own fealty to NATO was insufficiently zealous.

How a US & Qatari regime change deception produced the ‘Caesar’ sanctions driving Syria towards famine

25 June 2020 — The Grayzone

Like the mysterious figure it is named for, the Caesar sanctions bill is the product of an elaborate deception by shadowy US and Gulf-backed operatives. Instead of protecting Syrian civilians, the unilateral measures are driving them towards hunger and death.

By Max Blumenthal

The US Department of Treasury’s imposition this June of the so-called Caesar Civilian Protection Act, a draconian set of economic sanctions on Syria, amounts to a medieval-style siege on all Syrians living inside the country’s territory.

Inspired by photos that Western governments and media claim were smuggled out of Syria by a supposed Syrian military whistleblower codenamed “Caesar,” the sanctions are the product of a highly deceptive intelligence operation orchestrated by the US and Qatari governments.

The Art of Doublespeak: Bellingcat and Mind Control

12 December 2019 — Global Research

By Edward Curtin

In the 1920s, the influential American intellectual Walter Lippman argued that the average person was incapable of seeing or understanding the world clearly and needed to be guided by experts behind the social curtain.  In a number of books he laid out the theoretical foundations for the practical work of Edward Bernays, who developed “public relations” (aka propaganda) to carry out this task for the ruling elites.  Bernays had honed his skills while working as a propagandist for the United States during World War I, and after the war he set himself up as a public relations counselor in New York City.

If you were to search for a poster boy for the failed supercapitalism of the west, Atlantic Council Senior Fellow Anders Åslund fits the bill like no one else. Anytime the liberal world order needs to take a poke at Russia’s Putin, they call up the Swedish economist like a really weasely Captain America. But, just who is this economic superhero who tells everybody about Putin’s billions?

In Part I, we looked at a few manipulation techniques using artificial intelligence. However, it should be noted that the most effective influence is only possible with human involvement. In fact, cybernetics is essentially a human-machine interface, with people usually defining the objectives and carrying out the strategic analysis.

Facebook gives nod of approval to secretive and deceptive pages set up by a lobby group that collaborates with the Israeli government.

Facebook has banned several pages belonging to such viral media outlets as In the Now because they are affiliates of the Russian-funded network RT – even though these media outlets violated none of the social network’s rules.

Twitter and the smearing of Corbyn and Assange: A research note on the “Integrity Initiative”

By Mark Curtis: The UK government-financed Integrity Initiative, managed by the Institute for Statecraft, is ostensibly a “counter disinformation” programme to challenge Russian information operations. However, it has been revealed that the Integrity Initiative twitter handle and some individuals associated with this programme have also been tweeting messages attacking Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn. [i]  This takes on special meaning in light of the numerous UK military and intelligence personnel associated with the programme, documented in an important briefing by academics in Working Group on Syria Propaganda and Media. [ii]
