Sunday, 16 October 2022 — Multipolarista

EU foreign-policy chief Josep Borrell showed the West’s neocolonial mentality claiming “the world needs Europe” as a “beacon” and beautiful “garden” to civilize the barbarous “jungle” in the Global South. He also called for regime change to create a “post-Putin Russia.”

Russophobia Running Riot

Sunday, 4 September 2022 — Strategic Culture Foundation

Declan Hayes

“Though the Russians might look like Europeans, they are, you see, not quite human, not quite kosher, not quite like us.”

Though the news that Clown Prince Zelensky, Ukraine’s contemptible puppet President, is renting one of his Italian villas out to Russians for €50,000 per calendar month would lead to protests if his junta had not banned all such protests on pain of death, this further evidence of his corruption flies in the face of the rampant Russophobia all of Western Europe’s opinion makers have signed up to. Although I previously wrote about this Russophobia in the context of Russian children’s stories and the Ukrainian junta’s book burning policies, none of that could prepare either you or me for what now follows, for what resembles a German Jew watching Kristallnacht unfold one shattered window and one shattered life at a time.

UK Came & Went, Leaving Europe in a Mess

30 January 2020 — Consortium News

As Great Britain returns to the uncertainties of the open sea, it leaves behind a European Union that is bureaucratically governed to serve the interests of financial capital, writes Diana Johnstone

By Diana Johnstone in Paris
Special to Consortium News

Whew.  Finally, at last, the United Kingdom is formally leaving the European Union on Jan. 31.  Here in Paris, the champions of French withdrawal from the EU are celebrating. They see Brexit as the harbinger of a future “Frexit,” a French departure from undemocratic governance, and the beginning of the end of a failed project to unify Europe around the demands of neoliberal capitalism.

For nearly four years, Katharina von Schnurbein has been posing as a champion of Europe’s Jews.

If taken at face value, her speeches at numerous conferences suggest she is a conscientious civil servant motivated by a desire to halt persecution. A more detailed examination reveals she has been following an agenda set by Israel and its supporters.

Brexit, The EU and Democracy By Thierry Meyssan

11 September 2019 — Voltaire Network

During the dissolution of the USSR, France and Germany tried to maintain their place in the world by solving the problem of their size against the US giant. They decided to reunify the two Germanys and to merge together in a supranational state: the European Union. Armed with their experiences of inter-state cooperation, they thought it possible to build this supranational state despite Secretary of State James Baker’s dictate of forced enlargement to the East.

Europe on the Brink of Collapse? by Peter Koenig

18 January 2019 — Dissident Voice

The Empire’s European castle of vassals is crumbling. Right in front of our eyes. But Nobody seems to see it. The European Union (EU), the conglomerate of vassals. Trump calls them irrelevant, and he doesn’t care what they think about him, they deserve to be collapsing. They, the ‘vassalic’ EU, a group of 28 countries, some 500 million people, with a combined economy of a projected 19 trillion US-dollar equivalent, about the same as the US, have submitted themselves to the dictate of Washington in just about every important aspect of life.

Washington Going after the Dismemberment of the EU? By Grete Mautner

15 November 2018 — NEO

As evidenced by the actions of the sitting American president Donald Trump, the whole system of international relations is getting revamped by Washington, and the Western world is going to take a major hit in the process. Among the reasons why this is happening one can mention the failure of the Western world to satisfy Washington’s rapidly growing appetite. All this has resulted in Donald Trump trying to ensure that he forces as many concessions out of the European Union and other European bodies.

Media Lens: Media Silence Over Deadly Sanctions: From Iraq To Syria

10 October 2016 — Media Lens

Awkward facts that erode the ‘benign humanitarian’ self-image of the West are routinely side-lined or buried by the corporate media. Consider, for example, the severe impact of sanctions imposed on Syria by the United States and the European Union.

An internal United Nations assessment, revealed on September 28 by Rania Khalek in The Intercept, makes clear that the sanctions are punishing ordinary Syrians and preventing vital aid, including medical supplies, from reaching those in dire need. Access has been denied for blood safety equipment, medicines, medical devices, food, fuel, water pumps and spare parts for power plants, amongst other items.

Phone Wrecks: The Secret Agenda of Ashton and Nuland Revealed By Wayne Madsen

7 March 2014 — Strategic Culture Foundation

Two war-mongering women who represent the West’s foreign policy apparatus, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland and EU official and onetime British Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament activist Catherine Ashton, have seen their secret agenda for Ukraine revealed as a result of leaked phone conversations. Ashton, whose phone conversation with Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet was the second revealing phone call to be leaked, holds the lofty titles of High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy for the European Union and the quite feudalistic and meaningless Baroness Ashton of Upholland.

As cyberspace turns its attention to the SOPA and PIPA bills in the US, the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement, or ACTA, has been quietly signed or ratified by most of the developed world and is arguably the biggest threat to Internet freedom yet.

ACTA has – officially – been in the works since 2008, and was signed by the US, Australia, Canada, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, Singapore and South Korea in 2011. All negotiations were held behind closed doors, and it is mostly thanks to Internet hacktivist groups like Anonymous that news of the potential damage ACTA could cause has spread.
