Organic Bytes: What will it take to get this chemical banned?

26 April 2018 — Organic Consumers Association

[First, a whinge about the the UK environmental movement: It sucks! Organisations like Friends of the Earth (FOE) and Greenpeace with millions in resources can’t even manage a weekly newsletter like this one from OCA, a US-based organisation or another I carry here, Sustainable Pulse. Greenpeace do have RSS feeds but you have hunt around the website to find them and my subscription to FOE has yet to deliver anything. What does it tell us about the state of political involvement here in the UK? WB]

Media Lens: Douma: Part 1 – Deception In Plain Sight

25 April 2018 — Media Lens

Part 2

UK corporate media are under a curious kind of military occupation. Almost all print and broadcast media now employ a number of reporters and commentators who are relentless and determined warmongers. Despite the long, unarguable history of US-UK lying on war, and the catastrophic results, these journalists instantly confirm the veracity of atrocity claims made against Official Enemies, while having little or nothing to say about the proven crimes of the US, UK, Israel and their allies. They shriek with a level of moral outrage from which their own government is forever spared. They laud even the most obviously biased, tinpot sources blaming the ‘Enemy’, while dismissing out of hand the best scientific researchers, investigative journalists and academic sceptics who disagree.

The Mainstream Media Fueled Military Action in Syria, Reprisals Against Russia over the Skripal Affair By Philip Giraldi

24 April 2018 — American Herald Tribune

The complicity of America’s Fourth Estate in the evolution of the national security warfare state is often mentioned in passing but rarely analyzed in any detail. But a recent article on Lobe Log by Adam Johnson is refreshing in that it does just that, looking at the editorials in 26 leading newspapers relating to the April 13th strike against Syria for the alleged use of chemical weapons. All of the papers supported the attack in the belief that Syria and its Russian and Iranian allies had done something wrong and had to be punished. Some of the endorsements went well beyond the actual strike itself, urging the White House to do more. The article quotes the Toledo Blade’s assertion that: Continue reading
