Chavez Knew US Special Services Were After Him By Nil NIKANDROV

24 March 2013 — Strategic Culture Foundation

Hugo Chavez was not the man obsessed by the thought he was being followed and watched, that’s what the propaganda tried to make him look like. He was a politician who faced the reality and knew how hated he was in Washington for opposing the United States on all political or economic issues. He treated seriously the threats coming from presidents Bush and Obama, the State Department and the Pentagon. He knew well the Western special services had a diverse arsenal of means to physically liquidate people…

11 March 29013 — Strategic Culture Foundation

The Guardian newspaper’s self-proclaimed Venezuela expert Rory Carroll has glibly categorized serious charges that Venezuela’s late President Hugo Chavez Frias was assassinated by a United States-produced bio-weapon as being in the same league with «conspiracy theorists who wonder about aliens at Roswell and NASA faking the moon landings». A number of Venezuelan and international officials believe a hostile party covertly introduced an aggressive form of cancer into the 58-year old president.

Globetrotting reporter Pepe Escobar returns for a debrief on his recent adventure in the US, talks about the real Petraeus, Benghazi and Gaza and offers us his colorful, informed comments and observations.  We start with his recent road trip in the American West at election time, stylin’ in a rented Mustang convertible: from LA to San Francisco, then Reno, Salt Lake, meeting explorers from China in the Utah desert, New Mexico, Arizona and back to Las Vegas for Election Day. When Propaganda Masquarades as News By Prof. James F. Tracy

24 November, 2012Global Research

The week-long Israeli onslaught against largely defenseless Palestinians in Gaza that began on November 14 provides a basis for assessing how Western corporate media whitewash the war crimes of America’s foremost ally in the Middle East. There are three often intertwined techniques consciously applied to such news coverage—historical context, sourcing, and objectification of the enemy to be targeted. Such practices can readily transform journalism into propaganda that acts to abet such crimes while at the same time allowing journalistic institutions to still claim the mantle of “objectivity.”

Gaza: Who Was Commander Ahmed Jabari (1960 – 2012)? By Stephen Lendman

14 November, 2012Global Research

jabari

On November 15, thousands in Gaza City residents mourned Jabari’s assassination. Israel murdered him the previous day in cold blood.

Score another victory for occupation harshness. Add one to the column of Israeli crimes against humanity. Volumes are needed to list them. Israel lives by the sword of injustice. One day perhaps it will perish for its villainy.

Hamas officials and Qassam Brigades leaders stayed away from Jabari’s funeral for their safety. They’re marked men. IDF spokesman General Yoav Mordechai said, “Were I a Hamas operative, I would opt to shelter underground.”

Mourners carried Jabari’s body ritualistically. Others fired guns in the air chanting, “You have won.” Continue reading

Israel Approved Killing of Hamas Commander Amid Talks on Long-Term Truce By John Glaser

15 November 2012Global Research

Israeli peace negotiator Gershon Baskin said Jabari’s assassination “killed the possibility of achieving a truce.”

Just hours before Israel assassinated Hamas commander Ahmed Jabari on Tuesday, he received the draft proposal of a permanent truce agreement with Israel. But Israel approved the airstrike anyways, choosing escalation over resolution. Continue reading
