Russiatoday.ru Today at 19:31
The US and the UK are just as determined as ever to remove Bashar Assad from power, but are unlikely to go for a full-scale military intervention – at least for now.

NATO States “Not Interested” In Cooperation With Russia

14 March 2012 —  Stop NATONews.Az

West ‘not interested’ in strategic projects with Russia Alexander Sotnichenko

The United States and EU’s criticism of the elections in Russia prompted more interest in alternative options for integration with Russia. I think that Russia could become a centre of the new integration process, if it creates a new integration strategy based on the common past of the CIS states and common threats such as the West’s involvement in support of revolutions in the Middle East that could spread to the post-Soviet area.

Europe’s Economic Crisis: Portugal, Ireland, Spain, Italy and Belgium are Heading in the Same Direction as Greece by Bob Chapman

14 March 2012 — Global Research

It isn’t over until it is over. Of course, we are referring to Europe and its version of 1984. We find it profound that the bankers, politicians and bureaucrats of Europe can do what they have done with a straight face. Investor had a haircut shoved down their throats and the ECB, the European Central Bank and the IMF were exempt.

This BBC report says it all really, the arrogance of Empire. Thanks to Felicity Arbuthnot for directing me to this blatant example of the Imperial mindset warping the thinking of a no doubt otherwise intelligent person. Listen to how she browbeats the guy about her fucking visa! It’s outrageous. If I was religious I’d be saying ‘She knows not what she does’ but she does know. Continue reading

Black Agenda Report 14 March 2012: The KONY Scam / Farewell Kucinich / Racist Empire / Obama Role Model?

Social Media Scam Alert: Top Ten Ways to Tell Kony is Phony

by BAR managing editor Bruce A. Dixon
A week ago Invisible Children released a video that was immediately picked up and promoted by every corporate news and entertainment outlet till it went “viral”.  Kony 2012 allegedly “promote awareness” of and contributes to the end of child soldiering in Africa.  But is that really what it’s about?  Is it, like the old Save Darfur war dance, another propaganda campaign to justify US intervention in Africa?

The “Lone Gunman” of Kandahar Province? "The Dehumanization of the Enemy" Engrained in the Behavior of US Soldiers… By Andy Dilks

14 March 2012 — Global Research

The official line for the atrocity carried out in Kandahar has now been clearly established: a US soldier went off base alone in the night and proceeded to kill 16 civilians in a nearby village before setting fire to the bodies. Condemned as “intentional murderers” by Afghan President Hamid Karzai, the US government has announced the obligatory “rapid and thorough” investigation. Tensions were already inflamed over the burning of the Quran by American soldiers, and following on from the revelation of “kill teams” collecting body parts as “trophies” and the leaked footage of troops urinating on dead Afghans, there is much concern that the latest atrocity will escalate tensions and stretch even thinner an already fragile relationship between the occupying US Army and the local population.

NATO Proxies behind Syria Massacre by Prof. Michel Chossudovsky

14 March, 2012 — Global ResearchPress TV

Interview with Professor Michel Chossudovsky, Director of the Centre for Research on Globalization, Montreal.

“There’s ample evidence from official statements from the Arab League observer mission, from the Israeli media, that there are terrorist organizations involved in killing civilians and this, in a very cynical mode, provides the justification for the so-called international community to blame Bashar al-Assad when in fact these civilian casualties were ordered by foreign forces.” (Michel Chossudovsky)

Empire, Power, and People with Andrew Gavin Marshall- Episode 10

The Road to Tehran

The Western imperial powers seem intent on regime change in Iran. It has been said that, “the road to Tehran is through Damascus,” and such sentiments have been expressed by the King of Saudi Arabia, a ruthless tyrant who represses his own and neighboring populations (such as in Bahrain), and who calls for Syria to show “restraint” against its ‘repression.’ The hypocrisy of the West and its regional allies knows no bounds. The Western puppets, as we know from Wikileaks releases, favor a U.S. military strike against Iran, yet the Arab world as a whole does not. In fact, the wider world – and the vast majority of the global population – supports Iran‘s right to nuclear enrichment, but we are told that Iran “defies” the so-called “international community.” From official report, documents, and statements, we know that Iran has no nuclear weapon or any nuclear weapons program, but still, Iran is presented as a “threat.” What is the basis for this threat? What are the intentions and actions of the imperial powers against Iran? How do the sanctions affect Iran and its people? Are we, indeed… on the road to Tehran?

Video: Syria: "We want to exterminate 'Alawites"

11 March 2012The Angry Arab News Service

These are videos that you are not likely to see in Western media or in Saudi and Qatari Arab media. They chant “We want to exterminate ‘Alawites“. This was in Homs.  An eye witness (not to be confused with eyewitnesses on Aljazeera) reports to me that he himself heard the chant “Alawites to the grave, and Christians to Beirut” (it rhymes in Arabic of course) in Latakia. The EyeOpener- Stratfor and the Privatization of Intelligence

13 March 2012 — www.boilingfrogspost.com

Late last year, hackers with the anonymous hacking group LulzSec raided the servers of Strategic Forecasting, Inc., or Stratfor, a private intelligence company in Austin, Texas, coming away with some 5 million emails. Last month, Wikileaks began publishing the emails as “The Global Intelligence Files” to much fanfare. All of the claims that continue to emerge on a daily basis from this email archive are just that: claims. Regardless of the truth of this or that particular claim, perhaps the most significant thing to emerge from the emails is the fact that companies like Stratfor exist at all. That private companies are in possession of vast intelligence networks and vast sums of data on private individuals is a trend that few are comfortable with, but few are aware of until situations like the Stratfor leak bring it to the public’s attention.

This is our EyeOpener Report by James Corbett, presenting the disturbing trend of outsourcing intelligence work to private companies, the unhealthy relationship between intelligence agencies and the private sector, the culpability for misconduct and shielding the government from being held accountable for crimes committed on its behalf, and the creation of a revolving door that allows the private companies enormous leeway in bending and breaking laws by offering incentives to the agencies that are supposedly keeping an eye on them.
