25 November 2021 — Safe Passage
Yesterday 24 November 2021, at least 27 men, women and children died attempting to reach safety in the UK. Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of all those who have lost their lives.
The tragic truth is that these deaths could, and should, have been prevented.
Priti Patel failed to prevent them. She must resign.
Join our calls for her to resign.

The numbers risking their lives in the Channel have increased drastically since Priti Patel and Boris Johnson closed safe routes last year, including ending refugee family reunion from Europe and the Dubs route for unaccompanied children.
Priti Patel could have opened new safe routes to help those seeking sanctuary. But she chose instead to play politics with people’s lives. She did nothing to prevent people from risking this crossing and yesterday’s deaths were the tragic consequences.
It is unthinkable now that she can continue to push the same broken ideas in her Nationality and Borders Bill, a Bill that will make the situation worse by cruelly punishing people for seeking safety and driving them to take even more dangerous routes to reach safety.
This Government’s cruel and inhumane policies must be stopped. Priti Patel must take responsibility for yesterday’s tragic events and resign. Join our calls today.
