Moment of truth in the Ukraine war

Ukrainian counteroffensive has begun in Kherson Oblast

The fog of war envelops the Ukrainian “counteroffensive” in southern Kherson region where Kiev hopes to regain lost territories. But by the sixth day of operations, the echo chamber in the West has fallen silent. There are no tall claims.

RIP Great Britain

Monday, 5 September 2022 — Moon of Alabama

On July 7, when Boris Johnson finally stepped down as Prime Minister of great Britain, I wrote:

current poll says that party members would favor the current defense secretary Ben Wallace. But that does not mean they will get him as one of the two candidates to vote on as the MPs have the say over that choice.

Johnson may try to get someone elected who would look worse in office than he did. Liz Truss is a good candidate for that.

Kherson ‘Counteroffensive’ – Zelenski Is Going For Broke

Monday, 5 September 2022 — Moon of Alabama

After the first Ukrainian attempt to push towards had failed it is now reinforcing that failure. As I describe the move:

The only ‘successful’ attack was across the Inhulet river near Andriivka in the direction of the dam and river crossing that closes off the Kakhovka Dnieper reservoir.

The troops were cut off and mostly destroyed. On the western side of the salient a Russian unit crossed the Inhulet towards north and attacked the Ukrainians on that side. It soon had to pull back and the Ukrainians used the Russian crossing to reconnect with the cut off units in the salient.

Ukraine News Links 4-5 September 2022

Monday, 5 September 2022 — The New Dark Age

There may be some duplication due to cross-posting and may be updated throughout the day, so please check back. If it gets updated, I usually insert the time on the line above. A lot of cross-posting usually indicates that the article is popular and some links may not work, depending on your location but at least you have some idea of the scale of censorship now operating in the ‘democratic’ West.

As Europe Implodes, It Plans “Radical Intervention” Including Price-Setting, Suspending Derivatives Markets And Europe-Wide Margin Call Bailouts

Monday, 5 September 2022 — Zero Hedge

by Tyler Durden

Just when you thought the narrative couldn’t get any more idiotic, Europe shocks just about everyone.

A few days after the EU threatened commodity traders it would stage an “emergency intervention” to crush energy prices which were rising at a pace of about 20% per day (perhaps Europe can now print nat gas and electricity in addition to monetizing all deficits while injecting trillions in the process)…

Russophobia Running Riot

Sunday, 4 September 2022 — Strategic Culture Foundation

Declan Hayes

“Though the Russians might look like Europeans, they are, you see, not quite human, not quite kosher, not quite like us.”

Though the news that Clown Prince Zelensky, Ukraine’s contemptible puppet President, is renting one of his Italian villas out to Russians for €50,000 per calendar month would lead to protests if his junta had not banned all such protests on pain of death, this further evidence of his corruption flies in the face of the rampant Russophobia all of Western Europe’s opinion makers have signed up to. Although I previously wrote about this Russophobia in the context of Russian children’s stories and the Ukrainian junta’s book burning policies, none of that could prepare either you or me for what now follows, for what resembles a German Jew watching Kristallnacht unfold one shattered window and one shattered life at a time.

The US Played Gorbachev for a Fool

Friday, 2 September 2022 — Creators Syndicate

By Ted Rall

Mikhail Gorbachev, the last leader of the Soviet Union who died this week, was a member of that tribe of politicians who can diagnose a problem but don’t know how to treat it. As he grew up, he couldn’t understand why a nation blessed with extraordinary natural resources and an enviable geographically strategic position had so much trouble delivering economic prosperity to its people. “Mr. Gorbachev has said he finally realized, as regional party boss, that something much more serious was wrong with the Soviet system than just inefficiency, theft and poor planning. The deeper flaw was that no one could break out with new ideas,” The Washington Post wrote in his obituary.

Watch: NUCLEAR BUSINESS – monetary background of Ukrainian provocations at Zaporozhye NPP

Sunday, 4 September, 2022 — Youtube

A few hours before the start of the SMO, Kiev and Chisinau decided to disconnect the power systems of their countries from Russia and Belarus “in test mode”, without having connected it back to this day. Already on March 16, there are reports that Ukraine and Moldova have become part of the energy system of continental Europe.
